Utah State avoids the bubble, punches ticket into the tournament

In this year’s Mountain West final, we saw two teams, Utah State and San Diego State face each other for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Utah State was considered a bubble team going into this game, and SDSU needed to win to make the tournament this year. It was Utah State who came out victorious with a 64-57 win.

Coming into the Big 12 championship game, Kansas was dealing with a lot of adversity. They have been without big man Udoka Azubuike for pretty much the whole season and recently lost Lagerald Vick. The Eagles are Champions!

In a matchup of similar talent, the North Carolina Central Eagles beat the Norfolk State Spartans 50-47 in the MEAC championship finale. The Eagles edged out the North Carolina A&T Aggies 65-63 to advance to the Championship, while the Spartans beat the Howard Bison 75-69 to arrive at the final. The Spartans hosted the Eagles in the Norfolk Scope Arena.
